5 Types of Metal Roofing with High Lifespan and Stability

Until 1970 metal roofing installations were not common. Very few people used to have the metal roofs for their home and offices. The types of metal roofing were not that good in terms of varieties either. On the contrary asphalt and shingle roofing were coming with different styles and trends periodically.


In the early 90s thanks to modern techniques and chemical advancements, the industrialists and chemists got to be successful in introducing some unmatchable type of metal roofing--Which are equally popular in Texas like other parts of the US.




1. Aluminum Roofing

After tremendous reception as door and windows- aluminum is now available for the roofing as well. Although it is somewhat expensive than other roofing types such as shingle and asphalt, but its durability lasts for more than 15 years as its lifespan compensates its expensiveness.


2. Copper Roofing

The father of modern metal usage is now here for being used as metal roofing. People around the world have been using copper metal roofing for decades. This is much energy efficient and sturdier than the aluminum roof. Its lifespan goes beyond that of aluminum one, which is 20-25 years. On the other hand, it is also more costly than other metal roofing.


3. Zinc Roofing

The third and one of the widely acclaimed metal roofing types- here we go with the Zinc roofing. Until previous years and still on, zinc was used for making the cap of dry cell batteries. But in the now, the Zinc is being adopted as a stylish come stronger alternative for metal roofing. It can be your companion for 10-15 years and less expensive than the copper and aluminum ones.


4. Steel Roofing

In terms of style, stability and versatility- steel roofing has no substitute for itself. As steel is an alloy of iron and other metallic element, so its lifespan is expected sufficiently higher than little as 25-30 years old.


5. Tin Roofing

Tin is one of the cheapest metal roofing types which being recyclable is available in the market. Although this is less strong and more prone to get dents but still according to the metal roofing contractor, it can last up to 10 years; people prefer this metal roof type because of being cost-effective.
